2025 Registration Information:
Welcome to the Football and Cheer family of Metuchen!
Please read the following important information before registering.
Our season runs from August through the end of October. Games are played on Sunday mornings, both in Metuchen and in neighboring towns. At the flag football level, practices will be scheduled twice per week. At the tackle football level, practices will be scheduled three times per week. At the Tiny Mite cheer level (ages 5 - 7), practices will be scheduled two times per week. At the Mighty Mite and Pee Wee cheer level, practices will be scheduled three times per week.
While we are still working on securing fields, we are aiming for Tues/Thurs/Fri evenings (two of these evenings only for flag).
You will need to submit the required documents (player contract, physical form, and a copy of your child's birth certificate) prior to the first game.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO CHEER:
For this year, we will have 2- 3 teams (pending the amount of coaches and registrations):
- Tiny Mites (ages 5 -7)
- Mighty Mites (ages 8 - 9)
- Pee Wee (ages 10 - 12)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO FOOTBALL:
- If your child's birthday falls between 8/1/2017 and 7/31/2020, they are eligible to play flag football.
- If your child's birthday falls between 8/1/2015 and 7/31/2018, they are eligible to play 9U Tackle Football.
- Please note that any child whose birthday falls between 8/1/2017 and 7/31/2018 is eligible to play either flag or 9U Tackle Football. If this applies, it is up to the athlete and family to decide which program is the best fit.
OPTIONAL WORK BOND:
- Because our organization runs on volunteers, it is imperative that many families contribute by helping.
- Each family will be required to perform 8 hours of service for the benefit of Metuchen Pop Warner Football/Cheer each year.
- To ensure that we receive a sufficient amount of volunteers, each family must pay $100 upon registration (the “Work Bond”). This is already factored into the total cost you will see on our registration page.
- If a family successfully meets its Work Bond requirement, the family will receive a $100 refund at the end of the season.
- If a family does not meet the 8 hour requirement, the family will not receive a $100 refund.
- Please note that each family may opt to forfeit their $100 if they will not be able to volunteer during the season.

DISCOUNTS:
- WORK BOND: Please note that each family only pays the work bond once. You will see a discount of $125 on the second registration ($100 Work Bond + $25 Sibling Discount), and then $100 (Work Bond only) on each subsequent registration.
- SIBLING DISCOUNT: A sibling discount ($25) only applies once per family as well. After paying full price for the first athlete, the second athlete will automatically receive a $25 discount. Each subsequent athlete would not receive a sibling discount.
- EARLY BIRD PRICING (ENDS 6/15/25): Early bird pricing is already in place for each athlete until June 15. On June 16, the registration price will increase.
- Example: The Smith family signs up their 3 children - 1 for cheer, 1 for flag football and 1 for tackle football. Child #1 costs $250 since they signed up by 6/15. Child #2 costs $125 ($100 work bond discount and $25 sibling discount). Child #3 costs $150 ($100 work bond discount only). At the end of the season, the Smith family would receive $100 back for fulfilling the minimum of 8 hours of service to the organization. Their overall total cost for 3 participants (with early bird pricing) is $425 once their work bond fee is returned.
